Overview

RokNewsPager is an article previewer and rotator. It displays content articles, in a summarised form and, using mootools based javascript transition, rotates through a series of pages displaying articles in a contracted list format.

The module allows you to display a large number of news items and links in a small compact area via its paging functionality and includes a multitude of configuration options and parameters to customize how your news is displayed.

• Javascript Transitions: using the power of mootools, the module fades between lists of your content articles
• Previews: set the number of characters you wish to display from your articles
• Section Control: choose all articles, or those from particular sections or categories
• Auto Update: select whether the module auto-updates using AJAX

The requirements for the extension are listed below:-

• Joomla 1.5x - Ensure that you are using the latest version for compatibility and security purposes from Joomla.org
• RokModule - this is a free component that we offer that facilitates the use of Ajax, you can download it from the Extensions section in RokDownloads.

Live Examples

RokNewsPager, with its default styling, is shown above. The appearance will be standard across all Joomla sites, unless the template you are using has individualised CSS and images to provide an integrated, rather than generic look, for the extension. Below is a list of live examples of integrated styling from our Joomla Template Club themes:- Note: the examples shown below are styles from the Joomla Template Club themes only and do not accompany the free module itself.

• Refraction - the June 2009 release which features RokNewsPager in the lower left column. The module had been adapted to suit Refraction's transparent design with low opacity backgrounds.
• SolarSentinel - the May 2009 release was the debut of RokNewsPager, showcase itself in the upper right column. As the template placed emphasis on module class suffixes, RokNewsPager has specific styling for each variant.
