Installation Instructions

Note: The Bundle Template is only necessary if the Gantry Library is not installed at /components/com_gantry.

Step 1 - Download

Necessary Files

Files required for the template to function:

  • Template (Standalone) rt_omnicron_j15.tgz - Standalone template file.
  • Template (Bundle) rt_omnicron_j15-bundle.tar.gz - Template plus Gantry Component.
  • RokNavMenu rt_omnicron_j15-extensions.zip(unzip first) or mod_roknavmenu.zip - Required for the menu to work..

Additional Files

Ancillary files for the template:

  • Source PNG(s) rt_omnicron_j15-sources.zip - Adobe® Fireworks PNG source file(s) and any applicable fonts.
  • Extensions rt_omnicron_j15-extensions.zip - All extensions for the template.
  • RocketLauncher rt_omnicron_j15-rocketlauncher.zip - Demo replica installer.
The latest extensions can be downloaded from the Extensions Download area located here

Step 2 - Installation

Install from Admin → Extensions → Install/Uninstall → Choose File → Select file → Upload File & Install

Step 3 - Template Default

Make the template default at Admin → Extensions → Template Manager → rt_omnicron_j15 → Default

System Requirements

The following are required for Omnicron to operate fully:

  • Joomla 1.5.x (latest version)
  • Gantry v3.0.10 or higher
  • PHP 5.2 or higher
  • RokNavMenu Module

CSS3 Template Features

Omnicron is a CSS 3 template with graceful degradation. Firefox 3.6+, Safari 5+, Opera 10+, Chrome 3+ and experimentally with IE9, support CSS3.

  • Box Shadows: shadows for blocks
  • Text Shadows: shadows for text items
  • Border Radius: rounded corners for blocks
  • Color Crossfading: color transition on hover
  • CSS3 Animation: RokTabs and DropDown Menu Arrow rotation
