RokStories is great way to display your articles and accompanying images as a featured item. The module itself is facilitated by Mootools to transition between images and articles seamlessly, and is perfect for showcasing featured articles on your site, as seen on the frontpage.

How To Add Articles To RokStories (Showcase Section)

Every article that is displayed in RokStories (Showcase) has to be assigned to the Showcase Category.

You can set how many posts to display in that section from the “Refraction Settings” page. If you are writing a new post and you would like it to appear in the RokStories, you just need to assign that post to the Showcase category and add an image (instruction below).

Adding images to the posts shown in RokStories

To add image to the RokStories post, you have to add a Custom Field in the table below the postedit box. From the list please choose (or add new field) ‘image’ and fill the field under Value with your path to the image ie. http://your-site.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/image.jpg

To check the path to an image, please go to the Media page in your administration dashboard, click Edit under the image you wish to use, and copy the path from the File URL field.

How to remove RokStories (Showcase section)

Just go to the Refraction Settings page (Sections tab) in the admin dashboard and next to the Showcase Category → choose None

Alternatively WordPress checks if there are posts inside of a category responsible for a specified section, and if it finds any article it displays that section. If you would like to remove a section, just unassign all posts from the category responsible for that section. If WordPress cannot find any articles, it will just hide it.

Changing Sections Categories

If you haven’t installed our sample content you can easily enable RokStories by changing its assigned category :-

• Login into the WordPress administrator dashboard (http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/)
• In the left menu sidebar, go to Posts → Categories and create a new category for your Showcase posts
• Assign your posts to that category
• In the left menu sidebar, go to Appearance → Refraction Settings
• On the top of the settings panel choose tab Sections
• Select from the dropdown menu your newly created category next to the field Showcase Category

Please note that in the Settings page, under Sections tab you’ll find more options that let you customize your sections even more!
